Ghizlane Sahli explores matter, its texture and its universality. She collects waste (plastic bottles) and embroiders them with silk with the help of artisan women. She imagines these alveoli, the chief component of her work, as cells. These cells attach themselves and accumulate on a metallic matrix to form the oeuvre. This very organic work is perceived by the artist as a real gestation. She uses diverse media to express it: drawings, installations and sculpture.
Ghizlane Sahli’s work has been exhibited several times at the Marrakesh Biennale 2014-2016, in different French Institutes in Morocco and at the Mohamed VI Museum in Rabat. In 2018 she will also participate in L’Or at MUCEM, Marseille.
