Joël Andrianomearisoa’s wide-ranging practice encompasses sculpture, installation, design and performance. Using diverse media, his work explores the nuances of space, texture and dimensionality, often with an emphatically singular use of black. Traces of history, memory, sentimentality and the urban landscape are defining undercurrents in his practice.
Andrianomearisoa’s works were exhibited as part of The White Hunter exhibition, Frigoriferi Milanesi Art Center for Contemporary Art, Milan; Le Tour du Monde, Galeries Lafayette, Paris ; Afrique Capitales, 100% Afriques, La Villette, Paris (2017) and Dak’Art – Biennale de l’Art Africain Contemporain, Dakar (2016). Andrianomearisoa is also the recipient of the IV Audemars Piguet Award at ARCOmadrid, Madrid (2016).
