Originally established as an art-consulting outfit in 2005, TAFETA was re-constituted as a gallery specialising in 20th-century and contemporary African arts in 2009. With a background in finance, Ayo Adeyinka, founder and director of TAFETA, advises and works on behalf of a number of private and corporate collections of modern and contemporary African art. Located in Fitzrovia, London, TAFETA remains the leading purveyor of some of the most important 20th-century artists of African descent including Ben Enwonwu MBE, Ablade Glover, Susanne Wenger, Muraina Oyelami and Gebre K. Desta. Additionally, the gallery continually seeks out new talent in contemporary art, placing emerging artists in important private and institutional collections globally.
