LE 18: I screen

I Screen was developed by LE 18 with the aim of screening leading video and filmmaking from regional and international scenes in unusual places such as cafes, squares, streets and gardens. The programme of video, short film and documentary zero in on issues linked to cultural and spatial heritage, particularly in the context of a declining public space. The programme further aims at expanding our definition of ‘heritage’ and the socio-cultural and artistic modalities by which heritage is reactivated and humanised. For 1:54, LE 18 have selected works by artists and filmmakers whose research examines movement, exile and identity.

Founded in 2013, LE 18 is an independent creative platform and exhibition space promoting artistic and cultural exchange. The organisation supports emerging artists with research and residency programmes, increasing visibility of its artistic projects through exhibitions, presentations and public gatherings. LE 18 serves to connect the Marrakchi cultural landscape with international art scenes by inviting international artists to develop and realise projects at its site in Marrakech.
