Established in 1992 in London, Beardsmore Gallery showcases contemporary paintings, works on paper, sculpture and ceramics, with a strong orientation towards abstraction. Beardsmore Gallery has worked with artists based in Africa, Germany, Italy, Japan, South America, the UK and the US, curating exhibitions by its represented artists, as well as touring exhibitions from abroad. Beardsmore Gallery’s presentation of Atta Kwami’s work at the fair includes recent paintings and painted installations, a development of work which began as Relief Constructions in Ghana and Amsterdam in 2013. The resulting portable sculptures, of variable dimensions, are metaphors for borders, city-clusters and openness.
