Through a stimulating body of works, including ceramics, painting and mixed media installations, Cheikhou Bâ considers ‘what it is to be human’. His Tomorrow series includes mixed media small sculptures inspired by Existentialist Literature, fantasy film and children’s fables. The works portray an array of witty, tragicomic human figures that seem to be trapped between instincts and morals, freedom and social pressure.

Bâ trained at the École Nationale des Arts in Dakar and the University of Art and Design in Geneva. His work has been exhibited at Kalao Gallery, Bilbao; Waterloo Art Gallery, USA; The Mojo Gallery, UAE; Galerie du Chateau, Switzerland; Bethanien, Germany; Oude Kerk, the Netherlands; Musee d’art Contemporain d’Alger, Algeria; and Le Douze Gallery, France.
